London Unveils Digital Data Store
According to the BBC (January 7th, 2010), the Greater London Authority (GLA) will open their digital data store to the public on January 29th. The data store will include over 200 data layers with, “[i]nformation about planning decisions, crime rates, abandoned vehicles, house prices, road accidents and many other metrics will form the London datastore”. The online data store (data.gov.uk) is slated to open on January 29th of this year.
The Greater London Authority is opening the data store, because “releasing the data will make the GLA more open and accountable”.
